LONDON, 23 September 2026 — The Tourism Alliance (TA), the trade body representing over 60 organisations across the UK visitor economy, today announced that Debbie Walker, Director General of the Holiday and Residential Parks Association (HARPA), has joined its Board with effect from 8 September 2026.
Walker was re-elected to the TA Advisory Council in 2026 and has now been co-opted onto the Board. She has led HARPA, formerly the British Holiday & Home Parks Association, since 2023, representing the owners and managers of holiday, touring and residential parks across the UK. The sector contributes more than £12 billion a year to the domestic visitor economy.
Her appointment comes as the TA works through a heavy policy agenda, including the overnight visitor levy, tourism VAT and business rates reform, all of which bear directly on the holiday parks and accommodation sector.
Joss Croft OBE, Chair of the Tourism Alliance and CEO of UKinbound, said: “Debbie brings first-hand experience of one of the fastest-growing parts of our sector, and a track record of straight-talking advocacy for her members. The parks and accommodation perspective is one the Board needs as we push the case on VAT, business rates and the visitor levy. I’m glad to have her on board.”
Debbie Walker said: “The Tourism Alliance is working on a wide range of issues, from the visitor levy to VAT and business rates, that matter greatly to HARPA members. I’m looking forward to bringing that perspective to the Board table and working with Joss and the rest of the Board to get the right outcomes for the wider visitor economy.”
