Overview
The Association for Tourism in Higher Education is the subject association for tourism in further and higher education in the UK. Its objectives include promoting the development and recognition of tourism as a subject of study in the UK at foundation degree, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, and encouraging high standards in learning, teaching and research. ATHE carries out a wide range of activities including: the representation of tourism as a subject area to government agencies and others; the production of guidelines of good practice; liaison with other subject groups; an annual conference to address current issues in tourism education; promoting links between education, employers and other interested bodies in tourism.
