The South West Tourism Alliance (SWTA) was formed to fill part of the gap left by the demise of the regional tourist board, South West Tourism. We cover Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

SWTA is well connected with the regions MP’s through the Great South West APPG and the Tourism and Hospitality APPG as well as on an individual basis. We also have regular meetings with DCMS and other key Government Departments.

The principal lobbying activities undertaken by the South West Tourism Alliance are:

A collective voice for the South West Visitor Economy
Better road and rail connections to the South West
Cutting the rate of VAT for the Visitor Economy
A root and branch review of Business Rates

SWTA is Chaired by Alistair Handyside MBE and supported by a volunteer Management Committee.

Membership is free, and activities and meetings are funded by sponsorship and fund-raising dinners.
